I bought The Power of One on impulse and was completely captivated by the second page. The descriptions of life in Africa and the clever story-telling made it a book that I couldn't put down. What was intriguing was the end...it comes rather abruptly. I won't spoil it, but be forewarned.

sounds like a good book!
I saw the movie version of this book as a kid and LOVED it. Several years ago, I picked the book up and enjoyed it even more. You should check out the film version.
By the way, congrats on the promotion. And it was great to see your shots of Oregon!
