Finished The Last Summer of You and Me last night. One word: nice. It was a nice story. Not exciting, not fun, not boring. Didn't really inspire me, either. Just nice.
Ugh. I'm looking for a book that gets my heart racing and puts some color back into my world. Nice is boring. I need inspiration and spice!
No more nice.

Hmmm... if you're up for some real "no more mister nice guy" reading, Cormac McCarthy's books are pretty raw. Perhaps a lot more violent than many like, but like you said, no more nice. Also, Coming Through Slaughter, a book about jazz musician Buddy Bolden's life in New Orleans by the author of The English Patient, is a great, quick read, and contains lots of anything-but-nice imagery.
